Oval hoops are an unusual shape, however when held they do just fit into the curves of your palms making them a favorite of embroiderers. Another good feature of this particular hoop is the ability to stitch borders. Notice the heavier tightening screw compared to other hoops. We recommend placing the screw at the 11 o'clock position, which prevents your threads from catching on it as you stitch.

The 5/16 inch width medium hoop is recommended for medium weight linens, and fine woolens. The size is a comfortable weight in your hand.

To protect your embroidery fabric from marking, please wrap the hoop with twill or bias tape.
